On the site of the former monastery cemetery at the Kazan Monastery in 1947, a square named after Hero of the Soviet Union Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was erected, in the center of which there is a monument to a young guerrilla girl. Her name is also named one of the streets of the city, and in the homeland of the Tambov heroine, in the village of Osino-Gai of the Pichaevsky district, a museum dedicated to her works. The sculptor of the monument is MG Manizer, the architect I. G. Langbard.
In the colloquial speech of Tambov residents there was a long-standing phrase for the place of action - "U Zoya". It appoints meetings and visits, and Tambov's communists take a place in front of the monument for holding rallies.
