In the Michurinsky park at the intersection of Kuibyshev, Michurinskaya and Penzenskaya streets (Comintern square) in the autumn of 2011 a monument was erected to E. Baratynsky, a native of the Tambov region (or, more precisely, Mar's estate in Kirsanovsky county). The author of the memorable bust is the sculptor K. Ya. Malofeev, who executed it according to the project of architect A. S. Kulikov. It is symbolic of the place of its installation: nearby was the town estate of the poet's brother - Sergei Baratynsky, whose poet repeatedly stopped during numerous visits to Tambov.
