Mirror Pond is an artificial structure in the Kislovodsk park. It appeared in the late 19th century as a swimming pool with an original gazebo. In the pond comes fresh water from the "Semigrade" source, the water in which has a constant temperature all year round. In this part of the park is always quiet, calm. They come here to stay in silence, to look at the sky reflected in the water.
Under the pavilion of the gazebo, located nearby, there is an excess of water, which forms a wide and transparent stream - it was called a glass stream. From the pergola, the water leaves by small waterfalls and flows into the river Olkhovka.
At the Epiphany, residents of Kislovodsk and the surrounding area like to come to the Mirror Pond. The water here is covered with a thin layer of ice or does not freeze at all. Very convenient for the ritual. And tourists all year round just throw in a pond coins in the hope to return to Kislovodsk. Coins are then pulled out by children, they buy ice cream and thank them.
