Sappadino still speaks the Bavaro-Tyrolean dialect of Sappadino, which is a form of Austro-German language preserved in this region from old times. By the way, the name Plodn, in the local dialect means Sappada.

The characteristic feature of the village of Sappada is its layout, divided into 15 zones. Here are preserved ancient buildings and buildings in which people live until now. Walking, you can see the area with ancient wooden houses, almost untouched by modern civilization - it's part of the village called Sappada Vecchia or Staraya Sappada.

The main source of income for the village is tourism. In summer or winter, Sappadou fills in a lot of tourists who want to relax and rest in fresh mountain air, and, of course, go in for sports.
