Add a review about the Museum of Cats in Lloret de Mare

The Cat Museum in Lloret de Mar, located near the central promenade and the City Hall, has been around for a long time. It was opened by Russian immigrants Vera Novoselova and Alexander Gvozdev in 2002. It will be interesting for adults and children in the Cat House.

The cat museum in Lloret de Mar can boast of very rare exhibits of the 18th century.

On the three floors of the large mansion the owners of the museum placed more than 6 thousand exhibits. Such a number of cats in one place is hardly anywhere else you can see. Here there are figurines of cats made of ceramics, wood, porcelain, silver, paintings depicting these animals, ornaments, bells, household items and much more. Even on the walls are painted cats.

By the way, in Lloret de Mar there are a lot of cats. They walk around wherever they feel like. So the museum appeared in the city by chance.

The creators of the cat museum in Lloret de Mar are great fans of these pets. "I always really wanted to get a kitten at home," says Vera. "But since our family was forced to move all the time, I simply could not realize my dream." After a while, Ms. Novoselova began to travel a lot. From every trip she tried to bring some object with a picture of a pussy. Often, the woman found unusual souvenirs at flea markets and in antique shops.

The cat museum in Lloret de Mar can boast of even very rare exhibits of the 18th century. "In the museum you can trace the atmosphere of the relationship between pets and humans for several centuries," the owners of the collection say.

Every year in March in Lloret de Mar the art festival "Catalonia is the motherland of the Lunar cat" takes place. The carnival show is completely devoted to cats. During the festival, the streets of the city are very cheerful - music is heard everywhere, locals and tourists are dancing and singing. This holiday is organized by the City Hall and the Cat Museum
