One of the oldest in Ukraine, inferior in age only to Khersones. Its original name (since 1888) is the Simferopol Noble Theater, later it was renamed the Theater of the Tauric Nobility, and in 1920 - the First Soviet Theater ... However, in total it was renamed from ten times.
Curiously, the theater can conduct its history from an even earlier time, from 1820 ., when a Moscow merchant Volkov, a great theater-goer, arranged a theater in a large shed for horses at the Noble Assembly . Of course, it was rebuilt and taken out, in 1873, . in that place was built but a new building, but only in 1911 . under the project of academician of architecture A . N . Beketova finally appeared a modern building with six scenic stages . In the following years the seventh stage platform was built, and now analogues the Crimean theater is not available in the whole of Europe . This allows the creative team to include in the current repertoire at once more than 60 performances of various genres .
