One of the oldest churches in the city, Troitskaya, was built roughly in 1700. It is believed that the construction was immediately erected from stone, and the most ancient part of the structure is related to this period. The church was completed in 1771, but since then it has been rebuilt many times. To the building were added chapels, a chapel, a bell tower and a refectory. Opened in 1896 at the church church parish school was considered one of the best provincial.
In 1931 the Trinity Church, like others at that time, was closed, and for a while it stood empty. Later, it housed a carpenter's workshop. Only at the turn of the century the true meaning of the church was restored, and today it operates, despite the large-scale restoration works that continue to be conducted here. This is a small, elegant white building of classical slender forms with an attached bell tower, dark green roofs and two small gilded headlands crowned with crosses.
According to historical researches, two local Cossacks became the initiators of the church building, who filed a petition to the patriarch of Moscow Adrian as early as 1690. The chapel of the archistratographer Michael was added to the in 1778, chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows - in 1817 the Chapel of wood placed near the church in 1827, and in 1849 the building was surrounded by a wall of stone with a grid. Even later, an almshouse was built at the church. Today, the Trinity Church is the home of the Sanaxar Church of the Nativity of the Nativity.
In the architectural sense, the Trinity Church is quite simple: it is a double-faced quadrangle, small octagon. There are three altars in the church: the main one is consecrated in honor of the Trinity of the Life-Giving, special - in honor of the archistratographer Michael and the icon of the Mother of God "All the Afflicted Joy."
