As you know, the whole of Prague stands on picturesque hills. Among these hills there is an especial, extensive on its territory, comprising eight gardens and parks. This is the famous Petrshin. In ancient times, Petrshin was a pagan temple (the place of worship of Perun), from the 10th century. - a stronghold of Catholics, and from the 19th century. - a huge park complex.

On Petrshin, be sure to visit the younger sister of Eiffel tower - Petrshinskaya Observation Tower, - built in 1891 as a small copy of the French beauty. At the top of the tower is an observation deck with a good view of the city. This is the only place in Prague, from where you can see the famous Cathedral of St. Vita in full size

A particularly beautiful view from the tower opens in the evening (open until 22:00). But there is an inconvenience: climb the tower height of 60 meters can only be on the steps (only 300 pieces). If young travelers come with you, be sure to visit the Mirrored Maze located next to the tower - an amazing attraction with numerous mirror corridors and a hall with crooked mirrors - from which not only children but adults are delighted .

Another sight of Petrshin is the Church of St. Lawrence, built as far back as 922 as a Catholic alternative to a pagan idol and an altar for sacrifices located earlier in this place. In the Middle Ages, criminals were executed near the church. Now it is closed for inspection

Stefanik Observatory is another magnet attracting tourists to Petrshin. Founded in 1928, the observatory has not conducted real research for a long time, but aims to popularize astronomy and associated natural sciences. Therefore, powerful technical equipment was left here for day and night observations of the sky (it works all year round, but only in good weather).

If you came to Prague with your beloved, be sure to schedule a meeting at the monument to the patron of all lovers - poet Karel G . Mahe, - located here at Petrshin . This monument can be called one of the most romantic places in Petrshin where the lovers of the whole Prague meet . Petrshin also has monuments to such well-known Czechs as composer Witezslav Novak, writer Jan Nehr Ura, poet Yaroslav Vrkhlitsky, actress Ghana Kvapilova, and several sculptures ("Kiss", "Tosca", "Water", "Fourteen Years", "Vase", "Rusalka") .

Well, after the meeting monument walk with your beloved on the Rose Garden - one of the most beautiful and certainly the most fragrant part of Petrshin. Here is a chic rose garden (more than 10 thousand roses), which has the outlines of three different objects - a fan, a circle and a parterre.

Petrin Hill is very well seen from Prague Castle and guides are usually advised to visit there on their own in their spare time. Petrshinskiy hill takes a worthy a place among the sights of Prague, interesting for children and adults. Located just a couple of stops by tram ride from Malostranska metro station, this highest viewing point of the city is a wonderful amusement park. Here you can breathe fresh air, settling on one of the benches in a huge rose garden, enjoying the flowering of roses and a beautiful landscape.
