Torzhok is part of the so-called Pushkin Ring of the Upper Volga Region - a 250 km route connected with Alexander Pushkin's visit to the Tver Region. The poet came here more than twenty times from 1811 to 1836, and it's no wonder that in our time a number of museums have been created here devoted to the journeys of the "sun of Russian poetry."
Pushkin Museum in Torzhok is one of such places.
In Torzhok, Pushkin often stayed at the Pozharsky hotel. The story with the recipe for "fire cutlets" became for the Pushkin Museum in Torzhok a kind of anecdote. Here you can see a portrait of Darya Evdokimovna Pozharsky - the hostess of the hotel.
Engravings with images of Moscow, Tver and St. Petersburg, copies of Pushkin's manuscripts, the Don Juan list of the poet, images of old carriages on the walls - all these attributes convey the atmosphere of a historical journey, of which Pushkin was the hero, and now become every guest of the museum.
