The small Russian city of Torzhok is unique in that it retains its own ancient craft - gold embroidery. That same gold embroidery, which was embroidered shoes and belts of capital ladies of the 18-19 century and royal furniture in the imperial palaces. Feel the spirit of the times?
You can get acquainted with the samples of the work of local craftsmen in the museum at the factory "Torzhok golds."
The museum consists of three halls in which numerous pre-war embroideries of the 20th century and the Soviet period are exhibited.
Special skills were demanded by portraits of kings, commanders and faces of saints, literally "written" by the technique of facial stitch. Such works were ordered in Torzhok on special occasions
The factory still sews general epaulettes and signs of all military differences
