One of the most remarkable names in Russian literature is the name of the poetess Marina Tsvetaeva. Her life, creativity, tragic fate - everything is interesting and everything deserves attention. Born in Moscow, having thrown herself around the world, Tsvetaeva retired to the other world precisely in Yelabuga, forever associating her name with this city. In 1941, Marina Ivanovna was evacuated with her son George to Yelabuga, but, not living here for a month, she committed suicide.
Until now, many secrets are connected with her grave - near a stone fence on the outskirts of the Peter and Paul Cemetery. The site of the burial of its remains is the site indicated by Marina's sister - Anastasia Tsvetaeva, where in 1970 a granite tombstone was erected. Today, near the house where Marina Tsvetaeva spent her last days, there is a memorial complex dedicated to the memory of an outstanding poetess.
The house of the Brodelshchikovs, where Tsvetaeva was determined to stay, has survived quite well. There is a memorial plaque. In 1992 a literary museum named after the great poetess was opened. However, it was only in the last decade that Yelabuga truly paid tribute to Tsvetaeva's memory. It was in the 2000's. the whole complex of memory of Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva was formed in the city.
The memorial complex consists of many elements and places connected with the name of the poetess. It is not only a house of memory (the house of the Brodelshchikovs), in which life was recreated during the life of a poetess, and a literary museum, but also the whole area of her name with a bronze bust on a granite pedestal - "a monument not of death but immortality". In addition, the complex includes the Silver Age Library, the eponymous cafe, which constantly hosts literary readings and other cultural events, as well as the Portomoynya Museum.
This museum is not associated with the name of Marina Tsvetaeva, he is referred to the memorial complex of the poetess rather on the territorial proximity - the museum is located opposite the house of the Brodelshchikovs. The memory house of Tsvetaeva was purchased from private property in 2005. Today it is divided into two rooms, called "kitchen" and "hall." The interior is not rich, but very cozy, it completely conveys the atmosphere of the time when the poet lived in her.
Marina Tsvetaeva's Literary Museum was opened even earlier - in 2004. There are four halls with different expositions. For the museum collection, the organizers had to buy out Tsvetaeva's personal belongings and her family-this was Marina Ivanovna's precious brooch, her daughter's pomp of Ariadna, and the silver cutlery that the poet's family used. In addition, there are a lot of manuscripts and lifetime books, many documents and letters from Tsvetaeva
