No less long story and the Krasnopresnenskiy baths. They were built around the same time, and their name was received, like the whole district in which they are located, thanks to the Presnia River, famous for the whole city with its clean water.
For more than half a century, until the October Revolution, the baths belonged to the family of Biryukovs. Biryukovs were a dynasty of coachmen, but they became famous as owners of several bathhouses in Moscow. Some time in their possession were the Sandunovskys, but it was the Krasnopresnenskie family who invested the most money.
In 1908 the bathhouses were almost destroyed and rebuilt, continuing to enjoy great popularity among the city's residents . But gradually they were dilapidated, and care about their safety after the Biryukovs there was no one else, so in 1980 they ceased to exist in their old place . In their place the Cinema Center and the Hungarian Trade Office were erected, and the baths were reborn near the metro Ulitsa 1905 goda . The building baths was built on an individual project, which was very unusual for the USSR . They kept their modern look in memory of the old days and to this day continue to receive visitors .
