In Surgut there are several monuments, which definitely deserve attention - including the originality of design or performance. Almost all of them belong to the newest period of history: most of the monuments were erected as early as the 21st century

The main monument of the city - dedicated to the founders. It was established in 2002 and installed on the square of the 400th anniversary of the city. The bronze sculptural composition consists of three legendary figures of the discoverers of Siberia: the prince, the military commander and the Cossack, to which the fourth priest was added. It is believed that in the image of the prince Feodor Boryatinsky is captured, and in the image of the voevoda - Vladimir Anichkov, who arrived to build the city according to the royal decree. The height of the sculpture is 15 m.

Monument "Black Fox" - one of the most iconic in the city. It stands right at the entrance to the Historical and Cultural Center "Old Surgut". Fox almost exactly copies the image of the beast on the coat of arms of Surgut. The bronze fox was cast in St. Petersburg, the International Center for Culture and Art, and for a long time the city authorities could not decide where it should "run" (so that the fox was spinning back and forth). As it stands, the fox is heading for the road.

"Iron Man" - a monument to builders, installed on the street. Magistralnoy, near the house number 28. Monument in the pedestrian zone was delivered in 2003. This is a rather specific sculpture depicting the builder in front of a multi-storey building, in full working "equipment," including a cigarette in his hand. The latter, by the way, caused a hefty wave of discontent among the builders themselves.

Near the Surgut Surgical Center in 2007, a monument to a nurse appeared. This is the first monument in Russia dedicated to this profession (not counting military monuments). The author of the 600-kilogram and three-meter bronze statue was a local sculptor.

Probably the first monument of Surgut that you see when leaving the airport is a monumental "Flight" made of stainless steel, reminiscent of either an abstract bird or an airplane.
