The National Museum of Science, Technology and Space (MadaTec) was founded in 1983 . and took over the historic building that was the first location of the Technion (Israeli Institute of Technology) . The construction of the building was started in 1912 ., and its design traces both European and Arab motives . Construction became part of the plan to create an open corridor leading directly to the seashore . In 1923 . Albert Einstein , visiting the institute, planted one of the palm trees in the courtyard e - and it is still there . Due to the First World War and financing problems, the building was finally ready only in 1925 ., and after the museum moved to its . museum in 1986, its carefully restored . Today the building of the scientific museum is one of the most impressive architectural landmarks of Haifa at the beginning of the 20th century. .
At present the museum has two buildings in the neighborhood, and in the second one there are temporary exhibitions. The third building is a 4D-cinema, which is also worth visiting if there is time. More than 20 exhibitions of the museum are annually inspected by about 400 thousand people. The museum is open all year round and every day except for three holidays a year
Exposition
Museum expositions are changed twice a year and they are totally interactive . Here the basic principles of physics and natural sciences are presented in a visual form, including wave propagation or the device of human perception . In the museum there is a mirror room, a hall of holograms and multidimensional images, a hall of tricks and illusions and much more . Temporary expositions are focused on a narrower and more practical topic - it can be chemical productions o or alternative energy sources; the construction of a space rocket or sea port of Haifa; the history of puzzles or computers; exhibitions dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci or women in science .
Education
MadaTek also has a powerful educational program. During the school year, there are about 300 educational sessions in seven centers, including practical laboratories. Three equipped mobile laboratories travel to Israel for educational purposes.
At the same time the museum is not intended exclusively for "adults and scientists", it will be interesting for preschoolers and children from three years . Many exhibitions offer training in the format of the game , and even those kids who do not yet have an idea about the laws of physics, infinitely pleases that in MadaTek "everything can be touched" . Children can collect puzzles, play a simulator-projection of football, be measured by force and even leave their own marks on "Moon" . And the projectile the museum has an entertainment and cognitive park with fountains and swimming pools where you can splash, as well as a playground with attractions .

Work time: Sunday - Wednesday: 10:00 to 15:00, Thursday and Saturday: 10:00 to 17:00, Friday: 10:00 to 13:00.
Entrance: 75 NIS for adults, 65 NIS for children (November 2014).
