The history of this place is many thousands of years old. The prehistoric settlement turned into an ancient Greek port, then into Roman marble villas that were destroyed in the 3rd century. He only translated the name Belloloco ("The Beautiful Place") from Italian into French.
The heyday of Beaulieu fell on the Belle Epoque. The center of secular life of that time was the luxurious Grand Hotel Bristol, built in the late 19th century in the neoclassical Belle Epoque style and sheltered by a huge number of famous guests. The hotel's restaurant was once housed in the so-called "Rotunda" - in one of the most remarkable architectural structures of Beaulieu, which now hosts a local historical museum, as well as concerts, congresses and conferences.
