This unique toy kingdom was created in 1989 by the famous Prague director Ivan Steygr who collected an original rare collection of various toys of all time.

The idea arose spontaneously, when for one of the films the director needed a model of a metal typewriter. From this found for the film props for Steigra in the early 1970's. began collecting toys, the beauty of which fascinated the director.

The collection constantly increased - in 15 years in the apartment of Steygra there was not one free from the toys corner. And here in the Prague Castle was allocated a room in the former orphanage for the Toy Museum, which has become a joy and fun for the kids and their parents. In addition to the museum, Ivan Steygr constantly organizes temporary thematic or jubilee exhibitions

Many visitors of the museum are surprised to see toys that are more than two thousand years old: Indian handicrafts made of bread, toys from stone and wood.

On one of the two floors of the Toy Museum an impressive department is created, especially interesting for girls, dedicated to the Barbie doll. Count the number of these famous beauties is almost impossible: their thousands in a variety of ways. How to get to the Toy Museum (muzeum hracek) in Prague
