Dongting Lake is the pride of Hunan Province. By its size, this freshwater body of China is second only to one lake - Poyanghu. But when spring comes, and Dunthinh is poured, no pond in the Middle Kingdom can compete with it. The lake feeds several large cities of China, but at the same time it suffers greatly from such an urban neighborhood.
Ecology Dongtinghu is in a deplorable state: the waters are heavily polluted by industrial enterprises, and its inhabitants are on the list of rare and endangered animals. Nevertheless, Dongting remains a picturesque lake, the beauty of which can be admired for hours on a boat or boat.
Getting to know Dongting is incomplete without a visit to the island of Junshan standing in the middle of the island.
To Dongting, or rather to Yueyang - one of the cities that are in the immediate vicinity of the lake, can be reached by train from Changsi - the capital of Hunan Province. Travel time will take an average of an hour and a half.
