Rene Magritte, a Belgian artist who worked in the genre of surrealism, left a lot of amazing and even mysterious paintings to the world. Closer acquaintance with his work can be found at the Magritte Museum, which opened in June 2009.
The Musee Magritte (1, Place Royale) building makes a strong impression on visitors: in its original design, sketches of the artist's painting "The Empire of Light" were used.
