The Guam Gorge is located in the headwaters of the Kurdjips River. This is the Western Caucasus, Absheron district of the Krasnodar Territory. The rocks descend 400 meters high to the river. On one side, the gorge is bounded by the Guam Ridge, on the other - by the Lagonaki Ridge. This interesting geological structure is stretched for 5 kilometers, at times narrowing to two meters.

Among the relic plants that grow in the Guam gorge, you can mention boxwood, red-bell and yew. In 1717, the Turkish invaders were left to starve, and the fascist echelons destroyed the Second World War.

The name Guam Gorge was given by the village of Guamka, it is located near steep cliffs. For ease of communication in 1930, it was here that the Absheron narrow-gauge railway was built. A small area was restored in our time, but a landslide occurred in 2011, which destroyed the canvas that passed along the bottom of the Guam Gorge

The Guam gorge is famous not only for its wonderful tourist routes, but also for the climbers: climbs on steep cliffs come from all over the world. Routes have been laid for both beginners and professionals. It is interesting that climbing routes appeared here only in 2009 and 2011, taking into account the possibility of their passage by anyone. And for those who do not like climbing, Yarov waterfall, the cave of Er-Ed and Mazutka are offered.

From Tuapse to the Guam gorge, you can get there in 2, 5 hours in one direction. The entrance to the gorge is paid, the price for visiting is 200 rubles
