Add a review about the Pleskaya cat

On the Ples embankment, next to the very dock where the parachute of Sergey Sergeevich Paratov, beautifully played by Nikita Mikhalkov, was approached by tourists, two relatively young sculptures that have become just a few famous sights cities. On both sides of the river Shokhonka, which flows into the Volga, the "Pleskaya cat" and "Dachnitsa" are comfortably settled

"The Pleskaya cat" by the Belarusian sculptor Oleg Illarionov was installed in Ples on the embankment in September 2008.
There are many monuments dedicated to cats as sacred animals or characters of popular prints. Suffice it to recall the Cat of Kazan. But the "Pleskaya cat" is a monument to a concrete animal named Much who lived near the pier and the present place of the monument at the artist's house

Unusualness of this small sculpture and that it is made of concrete in order to avoid vandalistic manifestations , and that the cat of the fly is depicted with human thoughtfulness in the eyes, looking at the water surface of the Volga.

"The Plesk cat" by the Belarusian sculptor Oleg Illarionov, the friend of the family of the artist Vitaly Panchenko, was installed in Ples on the waterfront in September 2008.

Ples. Quiet abode
The real cat Mucha tragically died, saving her offspring in a fight with a yard dog, which made them very sad. The sculpture immediately began to be perceived by residents and visitors as a monument to all dead pets.

Cat Mucha now lives on a small concrete pedestal that has been empty for many years, although once there was a sculpture of a gypsy girl with an oar. So the "Pleskaya cat" became one of the symbols of the city and blended harmoniously with the landscape of the Plesa embankment.
