Maloyaroslavets is a city in the Kaluga region with a rather rich history, but most of all the memories of local ethnographers are associated with the military glory of the beloved city. It is worth noting that, starting from the Soviet time and until 2010, Maloyaroslavets were proud of the fact that the settlement is called the "historical settlement". Only in 2012, the wise ruler signed a decree, according to which justice was partially restored, and "military glory" replaced the historical settlement.
Meanwhile, it was no coincidence that the titles, decrees and fame were spoken about.

The paragraph of history
The city has the status of the "historical settlement" the ancient Russian prince Vladimir Andreevich Serpukhov, in the 14th century and arrived to settle new lands on which the tribe of the people "Vyatichi" used to live. Thus, the first vague mention of the ancient Russian figure dates back to the 14th century, and at the beginning of the 2000s, the Malayaroslav scientists established that the first written references to the city date back to 1402, and therefore, just over ten years ago, the inhabitants solemnly celebrated the 600th anniversary his beloved city.
Somehow six centuries of the locality changed its name only once, with Yaroslavets (as it was called the city of Vladimir A.) on Maloyaroslavetz as called the town Moscow princes who created a centralized state. The Soviet power overlooked the typically Russian name, and perhaps all the names of well-known Communists have already been dismantled, by the time they decided to rename Maloyaroslavets - it is not known for sure.

Glorious military history of Maloyaroslavets
The city of military glory Maloyaroslavets became after Napoleonic France actively struggled for an exit on the Kaluga road with army Kutuzov. In the course of fierce battles, there was practically nothing left in the city, but, thanks largely to the heroic resistance of the inhabitants, the evil French did not succeed.
In October 1941, aggressive Germans came in instead of the French, but they managed to get rid of them earlier than there was The blockade of Leningrad was lifted. After the second coming of the Europeans conquerors city had to rebuild again.
However, there is a legend that in Maloyaroslavets until the second half of the 20th century there was a wooden house, which has survived all the hardships and was pulled solely for safety reasons, although it was in a very satisfactory condition. In the local museum there are unique pictures.
