A bit of history
It should be said that the history of Val di Fiemme began in the 12th century, when the inhabitants of this beautiful valley, lying at the foot of the Dolomites, for many years struggled for independence and, having won, were able to declare their lands as the "Perfect State of Val di Fiemme", which lasted for many years. For the territory of Val di Fiemme (since it was really beautiful), Austria and Italy fought for many years.
After the First World War, Val di Fiemme began to develop as a ski resort, here twice (in 1991 and 2003) World Championships in cross-country skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, as well as regular World Cup ski races are held regularly. Hotels Val di Fiemme

Skating areas
Three skiing areas can be distinguished here: Alpe Cermis, Bellamonte, connected by a system of trails with the "Three valleys", and the most interesting and diverse area of skiing Latemar. To the last one you can get to the new lift from the town of Predazzo
Cavalese
The ski area entering the Alpe-Cermis zone and located on the height 2267 m. The height difference is 1407 m. The local slopes are perfectly exposed to maintain excellent quality of snow even in the darkest (from the point of view of an active skier) days.
The total kilometer of the "catapult" slopes of the resort is small - only 24 km, however this is more than offset by the remarkable snow cover throughout the season. In Cavalese there are 7 blue trails (10 km), 5 red (9 km) and 2 black (5 km), served by three gondolas and three chair lifts, as well as one yoke. The most famous black track is Olimpia II, 3 km long, with a height difference of more than 600 meters
Tesero
A quiet alpine town located in the heart of the Val di Fiemme valley at a kilometer altitude. From here it is easy to get to any vending valley area, because the routes of all local ski basses are successfully passing through Tesero.
The total length of the resort's routes is 40 km, most of them are red. The most interesting ski area is Ski Center Latemar, where there are many picturesque forest trails. Tesero is ideal for cross-country skiers: there is an international class center that twice hosted world championships (and is preparing to do it for the third time in 2013). To the delight of snowboarders, the resort has a snow park and half-pipe.
Karano
"Lower neighbor" Cavalese, located at an altitude of 906 m above sea level. Local residents are about the same number, but the number of beds offered for the searchers for snow and adventures covers this figure at times: Karano is notable for a large number of apartments and small hotels. In the town itself is very quiet (good for tourists with children), and holidaymakers here can enjoy all the achievements of the infrastructure of nearby Cavalese.
Bellamonte
Ski resort in the valley of Travignolo at an altitude of 1373 m. The height of the station is at the top - almost 2 km, at the foot of the mountain - 1550 m. The height difference is 427 m.
In Bellamonte 16 equipped trails with a total length of 24 km. Most of the local slopes of medium and high complexity: 11 km blue and 9 - red. The pros will have to be satisfied with the triple of black tracks (4 km in total)
Oberregen
In Val di Fiemme, besides the subscription of Dolomiti Superski, the map of Fiemme-Oberregen also operates. Routes Val di Fiemme
From the point of view of skiing, the valley is the western region of the Dolomiti Superski alliance, provides services athlete new about a hundred kilometers of pistes, modern lifts, excellent infrastructure. Complex routes for the "pros" in the resort are few. One can distinguish a route on the slope of Alpe-Cermis between the summit of Eurohotel (Eurotel, 2000 m) and Doss dei Laresi (1279 m).
A cab lift near Predazzo will take skiers to the Latemar ski area. This region is more suitable for middle-level skiers, they will be especially interested in the eastern part of the slope in the Rifugio Caserina area.
Up to the third skiing area, Bellamonte Alpa di Luzia (24 km of trails), you have to go by bus, but the descents there are excellent: comfortable, long "blue" and "red" trails, winding in the forest. From here also begins a narrow and steep "black" route, descending to the neighboring Val di Fassa valley.
Not bad conditions here for beginners snowboarders: in the Alpe Lucia area for them there are all conditions. In addition, there are snow parks in the ski area Ski-center Latemar and in the town of Obereggen
Entertainment, excursions and attractions Val di Fiemme
Traditionally, not those who are ready to conquer new peaks and trails to exhaustion, and those who just want to go skiing, sit in bars and restaurants, admire the mountain scenery. For these purposes, the valley is suitable, as best as possible: there are just two national parks in which you can see the trees of rare species, including the red spruce, from the tree of which the famous violin master Stradivari made his violins.
In the nearby medieval town of Cavalese you can see the Franciscan monastery, the church of St. Villo and other sights. The town is compact, picturesque, divided into two parts by a small river Rio Gambis. Walking along the streets of this Cavalese you can feel the spirit of the Middle Ages, and its sights can not be left without attention.
