Umbria (Umbria) is the "green heart of Italy". This name she got thanks to the geographical position, as well as the picturesque nature of pristine beauty. Olive groves and dense forests, dotted with numerous small streams and waterfalls, cover the mountains and hills of Umbria with a solid green carpet. Small towns and romantic medieval castles fit organically into the surrounding landscape.
Surrounded by Tuscany, Marche and Lazio, Umbria is the only region of the "boot" that does not have borders with the sea or neighboring countries. The region of about 85,000 km2 consists of two provinces: Perugia and Terni.
Capital - Perugia.
The region is famous for its agriculture, this is reminiscent not only of the landscape of the area, but also the absence of large industrial cities - the population of the third largest city - Norcia, with a little more than 100 thousand people, and the rest of the cities (Assisi, Spoleto, Orvieto, Sitta de Castello, Gubbio and others, altogether 92)

In any case, the impressions you get from the walk are more than offset by some inconvenience.
To get from city to city, you can rent a car or use public transport. The cities of the region connect bus routes, most of Umbria's buses are operated by APM buses in the north of the region and SSIT or ATC Terni in the south.
