How to get to Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre can be reached by rail road (most regional trains from Genoa stop in the village of the reserve). Travel time from Genoa by train to Riomaggiore is about 2 hours. You can take the next train to Spice (about 1 hour), and then change to a regional train, which should not take more than 10 minutes to Riomaggiore.
The entry of private cars into the park is prohibited. Parking is available only in Monterosso.

Transportation
You can travel between the villages of Cinque Terre by rail. The ticket from Riomaggiore to Monterosso, valid for 6 hours, costs 1.4 EUR.
Inside the villages there are ecologically clean (so-called "green") buses. For owners of Cinque Terre Card - trips on green buses are free. In the management offices of the park, two types of tickets are sold: a Cinque Terre Card for 5 EUR and a ticket that allows unlimited travel by rail from Spice to Levanto at a cost of 8, 5 EUR
Riomaggiore has a toll lift from the railway station to the residential station zone.
But, perhaps, the most pleasant way of moving here is on foot. The time of walking between settlements will not tire even the laziest tourist:
- Riomaggiore - Manarola - 20 minutes
- Manarola - Corniglia - 45 minutes
- Corniglia - Vernazza - 1, 5 hours
- Vernazza - Monterosso - 1, 5 hours
The main resorts of Cinque Terre
Riomaggiore is the largest city in the national park. It is with him usually all the tourists begin their journey to the Cinque Terre. The village is famous for its wine, a small pretty pebbly beach and a marina.
Manarola, from which Riomaggiore connects the picturesque "Road of Love" (Via dell'Amore) is interesting with the preserved medieval defenses from pirates.
Corniglia is the only village in the Cinque Terre that does not have a beach, marina and access to the sea. The slopes of the hills near Corniglia are covered with vineyards.
Vernazza is famous for its good beach and the most picturesque shore in the entire reserve.
