The European Sports Region (ESR), located in the federal state of Salzburg, includes two ski resorts: Zell am See (757 m above sea level) and Kaprun (786 m above sea level), in total - more than 130 km of well-groomed trails. The maximum height is 3029 m (Kaprun glacier)

One of the main advantages of the region is the abundance of natural attractions, some of which form national parks. For example, the largest in the Alps and the oldest in Austria, the High Tauern Reserve, located on the territory of three lands at once and famous for its glaciers, mountain rivers and lakes and 266 peaks, some of which exceed 3000 meters. The park can be visited not only in winter but also in summer. If there is a special Zell am See-Kaprun Card available from a number of hotels, the entrance is free.

The European sports area is good for beginners, as well as for recreation with children, although there are professionals to go for a ride. The guarantee of snow is from the end of December to the middle of March. Disadvantages: overcrowding of the trails and queue on the lifts in high season. The resort's routes pass "from and to" for a week.

The resorts of the European sports area - an ideal place for rest with children . The local infrastructure is arranged in such a way that it will be fun for both teenagers and kids . Of course, the number of winter playgrounds are limited, and the number of children's ski schools does not exceed ten, but those that are, are ready to offer parents lessons with kids from year (for example, Kaprun, Bobos baby club) and children much older, Sunday to Thursday, in the first Afternoon . Cost depends from the availability of food and beverages, the length of the lesson and the number of lessons planned . So, in Zell am See one-day class (children from two years old), from 9 . 30 to 15 . 30, with meals , entertainment and careful guardianship of teachers, will cost 58 EUR .
