Bludenz is the southernmost city of the federal state of Vorarlberg, located at the junction of five picturesque valleys, so there is little to say about the beauty of this place. From 1418 to 1806, Bludenz was the residence of the Habsburgs, who during the reign managed to "inherit" a lot, both historically and architecturally. It is not surprising that this miniature town is of great interest to a cognitive and curious tourist.

Bludenz's entertainment, excursions and attractions
From sights of the city, you can especially highlight the Church of St. Lawrence and the Baroque castle Gayenhofen, which is considered a symbol of the city. From the church tower, you can see a stunning view of three mountain ranges, five valleys and four countries.
Noteworthy are also the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche church, built in 1932-1933. on the site of the old cemetery; the Spitalskirche temple in honor of the Holy Trinity; ruins of the castle Sonnenberg (Sonnenberg); Church of St. Vinerkirchlein, the first mention of which dates back to 830 and the parish church of Pfarrkirche St. Viktor und Markus of the 15th century, located in Nyutsiders.
The fountain in honor of St. John of Nepomuk (Nepomuk-Brunnen) is located in the heart of the Old Town and is a popular meeting place. It is worth a stroll along the street Werdenbergerstrasse, to the left and to the right of which are the houses of the patricians built after the fire of 1638. In Bludenz there are also ruins of the city fortifications - the Lower and Upper Gates, built in the late 15th century. In the Upper there is now a city museum (Museum der Stadt Bludenz), open to visitors every day from June to September. The 15th-century Powder Tower is located south-west of the city center.
In Bludenz and Nyutsiders there are 10 ski resorts. For nature lovers, it will be interesting to climb the mountain ranges starting from the Muttersbergbahn cableway station. More experienced travelers will be pleased with the ascent to the mountain peak of Gamsfreiheit with a height of 2211 m.
